The deaths have occurred in America of two people originally from the parish. Thomas Lernihan , Leitrim, and Mary Cullinan nee Huxley, Ballydineen died recently in USA. We offer our sympathy to their families.

The death has occurred suddenly in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary of Christy Deloughery formerly of Shyan . He was aged 55. We offer our sympathyto his wife, his mother Eileen and brothers, Gerard, John Joe and Michael.

Two Kilmihil athletes were given awards at the recent Athletic Social in Ennis. Ian Slobody and Laura Egan won these awards for outstanding achievements in 2008. Congratulations to both.

Kilmihil’s oldest person has reached her 100th birthday. Susan Ita O’Gorman was born in Cahircanivan on January 17th 1909 to Michael O’Gorman and Bridget Daly. She was one of 12 children. She has been in a nursing home for some years but is still hale and hearty. We wish her continued good health.
