What a wonderful day for the parish. Our women footballers won the all Ireland title in Tuam on Saturday last. It was a truly marvellous performance from all the girls and a great Kilmihil support were thrilled at the display. Congratulations to all involved, the panel and the management team.
Best of luck to Kilmihil girls, Una Downes and Eimear Considine on the Clare Intermediate team in the All Ireland Final in Croke Park on Sunday.
The death has occurred in Kilrush of John Frawley, formerly of Lissenair after a long illness. John Aged 64 was son of Tony and Baba Frawley. We offer our sympathy to his wife and fanily
Congratulations to Damien Rigney, Lacken son of Eamon and Liz and Michelle Downes Lacken daughter of Willie and Teresa who were married in St. Michael’s Church.
While camogie has never been very strong in the parish , there was much Kilmihil interest in Clare’s All Ireland Junior victory in Croke Park. The winning goal was scored by Shona Enright Kilmaley. Shona’s mother is formerly Rosie Coughlan from Greygrove, for many years an outstanding athlete with Kilmihil and St. Mary’s. Star forward was Mona Linnane, Shannon whose grandfather was Paddy Lillis formerly from Knockbeg.
Congratulations to Kilmihil lady footballers who won the Intermediate Championship by beating Shannon Gaels in the final. They now go on to represent Clare in the Munster Championship. Next year they will take part in the Senior championship.
Good luck to the Kilmihil football girls who play the the Intermediate final against Shannon Gaels on Saturday. The club has been in the finals for the past 2 years but were unlucky losers. We hope that it will be third time lucky.
Congratulations to Ailish Considne who was on the Clare under 16 team that won the All-ireland “B” championship final against Tipperary.
Well done to Una Downes and Eimear Considine who starred in the Clare team which has qualified for the All_Ireland Junior final in a few weeks.
