Deaths

The cold weather has taken it’s toll on the elderly. The following have died

Sonny Murray, Knockalough well known musician has passed away as has another musicviam Mary King Knockmore.

Mellie Enright has died aged 95. Well known in the village where she had a shop she was also a noted historian.

Rose Trees (O’Leary) formerly from Cahirvcanivan died in Australia while Kitty O’Gorman, formerly Greygrove died in Canada and was buried in Kilmihil

Delia Devine, Clonigulane died in Dublin. Paddy Hehir, Aghaya has also died aged 77.

Eileen Conefrey (Nee Donnellan), Kiltunper has died aged 80.

Ther was great shock in the parish over the death following an assault of Brian Casey, Ballydineen son od Martin and EillenHe was aged 26.   

 There was much sadness following the death on Saturday last of Dan O’Hallorann  after a long illness.  An outstanding athlete in his youg days, in later yerars he acted as a physio for Clare and parish football teams. He was 72.

Congratulations to Timmy Ryan Corgrigg who has reached his hundredth brithday. A former outstanding athlete and footballer he still enjoys excellent health and leads a very active life.

Ita O’Gorman from Cahircanivan is the oldest person in Kilmihil  having passed her 101st birthday. She has been in a nursing home for many years.  

Weh them both continuous health.l

St. Michaels CCÉ is hosting a Traditional Music & Dance Weekend from 19th to 21st of March 2010. There will be a seisiún competition - with prize money of €2000 for outright winners.

Traditional Mass on Saturday Evening.

Trisco on Saturday Night.

Sunday 2pm -4pm :Feis Cheoil, varity of instruments U6 - U14 Traditional Concert @ St. Michael’s Church in aid of Milford Hospice from 8pm - 10pm

   It has been one of the coldest January for years. Snow and frost dominated the weather. Knockalough lake was frozen for the first time since the early 60’s and many people took advantage to walk out to the island in the lake
