The group decided not to produce any play this year 05/06

**********************************************************

Kilmihil Drama Group is back in action after a two year break. After the success of the 1997 production of Brothers of the Brush which they brought to the All-Ireland Finals, the group was unable to get a play together for the 1998 and the 1999 seasons. But now there is a cast together for the new 3-act season and Kilmihil Drama Group will be on the boards again in the spring of 2000.
The completion of the new community centre will be a major boost for the group. Brothers of the Brush was rehearsed in the old school in Lacken and that was not very comfortable.
Through the early nineties the group put on a wide variety of both 3-act and 1-act plays.

These included:

The Chastitute by John B. Keane.

Trumpets and Raspberries by Dario Fo.

The Murphy Initiative by Niall Williams.

Brothers of the Brush by Jimmy Murphy.

Some of the 1-act plays that the group staged were:

A Burglery Will Take Place

After Magritte.

The Workhouse Ward.

Love and Acid Drops.

A Night Out.

The Kilmihil Drama Group is fortunate to have a large body of actors to call on. In recent years the following have appeared on stage: Michael Mescall, Paddy Cotter, Sharon Murrey, Liz Rigney, Anne Duggan, Paul Conway, Thomas Lineen, Thomas Burns, Pamela Blake, John Lynch, Kathleen Devine, Pat Mohally, Martin Keane, David O’Connell, Francis Cussen, Helen Broderick, Tom Keane, Mona Lineen, Gerry Harty, Lucy Blake, Aine Lynch, Janice Kelly, Joe Hassett, Tessie Garry, Dymphna Browne, Niall Williams, Christine Breen-Williams, Pat O’Connell, Carmel Lineen, Stan Lineen and that is just in the Nineties. Over the years there have been many more enthusiastic thespians appearing for Kilmihil. As well as those on the stage there are as many who make it all possible backstage. These are Larry Blake, Liam Broderick, Daniel Mohally, Maureen Mescall and many more. This years production will be directed by Niall Williams. Anybody that would like to get involved in the group should contact Maureen Mescall or Niall Williams. You would be more than welcome.
