The Kilmihil youth club was first founded in the early 80’s. They took part in many events and won Tops of the Towns a musical variety show and large numbers of young people became involved. At the present time there are 26 members between 13 and 16 years. They meet on Friday nights in the community centre between 9 and 10.30. They take part in Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Pool and cards. The leaders are Geraldine Downes, David Anglim and Rosemary Anglim. This year in cooperation with community games they have entered competition in Basketball and Volleyball. There are make up nights for the girls and outings to the cinema. However there are many more young people in the parish who could become involved and their parents also. In this age of DVDs, play stations and mobile phones it is difficult to get young people interested, but hopefully next year more will take part in the youth club.
